Biography

Uri Sorek is a partner in the litigation department at our Tel Aviv office.

Uri is considered one of the most prominent and experienced lawyers in Israel in corporate litigation, securities, antitrust and corporate governance.

Uri handles many derivative claims in which shareholders sue for damages on behalf of a company. In such lawsuits, Uri has successfully defended against allegations of prohibited dividend distribution, allegations of illegal transactions with the controlling shareholder in the company, or transactions in which the controlling shareholder has a personal interest, allegations of breach of the duty of care and breaches of fiduciary duties by company officers, claims of sabotaging sales, claims of liability for criminal offenses committed by the company and more.

In the area of derivative claims, Uri has represented the largest companies and corporations in the Israeli economy including banks, international consumer product companies, leading companies in the field of energy, and more .

Uri has extensive experience in handling complex class actions in the commercial field, securities and antitrust against Israeli and international corporations, including those from China, South Korea and the US. Uri also handles class action lawsuits in consumer and environmental protection and insurance law. His clients include the more prominent enterprises in the Israeli economy.
