Daniel Sekel

Biography

Daniel Sekel is a partner in the energy and infrastructure department at our Tel Aviv office.

Daniel specializes in commercial law with an emphasis on providing counsel in complex projects in the energy field, international merger and acquisition transactions as well as comprehensive commercial representation of companies in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, pharma and medical devices.

Daniel provides counsel to companies at the various stages of their corporate lives, from the initial research and financing stages, through commercial development and distribution to purchase or initial public offering and beyond.

Daniel represents an extensive list of clients, which includes start-ups, leading energy companies, established public companies, investors of various types, funds and tech incubators, as well as universities, hospitals and some of the largest research institutes in Israel.

Between 2005 and 2010, Daniel headed the legal department of Ramot, the research and development company of the Tel Aviv University.

  • Represented the underwriting company Cantor Fitzgerald, as the Israeli consultants, in the framework of a sales offer of the shares of the medical device company Nano X, in the amount of approximately 193 million USD. The company has developed an advanced X-ray device, and its shares are traded on NASDAQ.
  • Represented the Delek Car company in a transaction for the purchase of 70% of Veridis, in the amount of ILS 992 million. Veridis operates in the field of collection, treatment and recycling of municipal waste, as well as in the fields of desalination and energy.
  • Provided counsel on international bond raising for the Delek Group, from institutions in Israel and abroad, in the amount of approximately 180 million USD.
  • Represented Delek Drilling and Noble Energy (now Chevron) in an extensive transaction for the purchase the shares of the Egyptian company – EMG.
