Biography

Alexander Shapira is an associate consultant in the tax department at out Tel Aviv office.

Alexander serves as the firm’s consultant with respect to the various areas of taxation: income tax (individuals and corporations), real estate taxation, international taxation, capital market taxation, value added tax, structural changes and executive compensation.

In this framework, Alexander provides regular tax counsel, tax planning and accompanying commercial transactions, obtaining pre-ruling approvals from the tax authorities, providing legal opinions on complex issues, providing counsel in voluntary disclosure procedures, conducting assessment discussions with the various tax authorities and providing representation in the courts in connection with civil appeals on taxation issues.

Alexander is the author of the book Capital Market Taxation (3rd edition, April 2019) and hundreds of articles and professional publications in the field of taxes.

He serves as a member of the Tax Forum of the Advocacy Chamber and the response team of this forum, as well as serving as a member of the Tax Committee and several other committees of the CPA Association.

Alexander frequently lectures in academic institutions as well as at important conferences, including at the BAR Association, the CPA Association, the Tax Consultants Association, “Lahav” (Faculty of Management at Tel Aviv University) and more.
