Biography

Yona Goshen – Gottstein is a partnet in the banking and finance department at our Tel Aviv office.

With unique experience in banking and financial regulation, Yona specializes in launching innovative financial products, formulating complex transactions of all types, investment management and combating money laundering.

Yona represents companies in local and international financing transactions, including project financing, means of control financing, real estate financing of various types as well as hedging transactions. She provides thorough legal advice that includes mapping out the company’s needs, extensive negotiation of financing agreements as well as handling complex financing instruments with unique expertise in derivatives and ISDA agreements.

Yona’s clients include major Israeli and international banks, government entities, public and private corporations and domestic and foreign investors. Yona represents businesses, corporations and government bodies before the Bank of Israel and the Israel Securities Authority.

Along with extensive legal experience, Yona also brings to bear rich and extraordinary practical experience in banking and finance; before joining the firm, she held a variety of senior positions in the world of banking, including Vice President and Director of the Central Services Division and Chief Risk Manager at UBANK, Head of the Legal Department at the Bank of Jerusalem, and the Chief Legal Counsel of the First International Bank of Israel. As part of her duties, she was responsible for credit risk systems, operational systems, and played a central role in the establishment of the commercial infrastructure of the Bank of Jerusalem as well as in the establishment of the risk and credit management systems at UBANK.

In 2023, Yona was ranked ‘Leading Individual’ in the Legal 500 international ranking guide based on her professional work and her clients’ reviews.

  • Represented Matzlawi in a partnership agreement with the urban renewal company ICR, for the establishment of an urban renewal project on the corner of Rothschild, Herzl and Libeskind streets in Bat Yam.
  • Acted for the Israeli biomedical company Kamada in financing the strategic transaction for acquiring four FDA-approved plasma-based products from the US private company Saol Therapeutics.
  • Represented Generation Capital Fund in a logistics storage cooperation transaction with Friedenzon Logistic Services Ltd.
